You need to install the Hotboot or Warmboot snippit. This reboots your
mud at the mud level without kicking anyone off. And it doesn't reboot your mud
at the host level. If you would like a demo, drop in on karastorm.org. Ask for
SwiftSword or Nicole (Host Admin's) I have only seen rare times that
we needed to reboot at the host level. (reboot mud now) To restart your mud at
the host level (./startup &) you would need a script written to handle this.
This is how I know to do it. Others might have an easier way.
We also own our own server hosted at Rackshack which is now
EV1.NET When needed I can reboot the whole host to reset everything.
Presently we are hosting 4 muds so its not convenient to reboot the host too
many times.
